Pintu Das, his wife Rimi, and their two sons Priyam and Rupam are missing or have gone into hiding. Locals allege that Pintu Das was involved in a business of lending money against gold kept as collateral, and many people are not getting back the gold they had pawned.
It is learnt that multiple people have filed complaints at the police station. However, no missing diary has been lodged on behalf of the family.
Chandpur Sadar Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge Faiz Ahmed said the matter is being investigated and efforts are underway to trace Pintu Das and his family members.
