Rashed Khan's remarks on Jamaat for not including NCP in shadow government

In a Facebook post on Wednesday (August 26) morning, he claimed that even if Jamaat ever comes to power, NCP will not get a place in the government.

Rashed Khan said, despite being organisationally weak, Jamaat had political motives behind supporting NCP with seats and candidates' expenses in the election. He claimed that by keeping NCP at the forefront, there is no scope for Jamaat to evade responsibility for its role in 1971.

He also expressed hope that Jamaat leaders would play a more responsible role in forming the shadow government. However, Rashed Khan commented that if wrong or misleading information is spread on various issues including enforced disappearance, the people will view the shadow government negatively.

Besides, he raised questions about the absence of women's representation in the shadow cabinet. Rashed Khan urged political parties to ensure women's participation following the spirit of the July National Charter.
