He made these remarks while speaking as the chief guest at the inaugural ceremony of the July Mass Uprising Memorial Museum in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar in the capital on Wednesday (August 5) morning.

The Prime Minister said, 'The July Memorial Museum will unveil the mask of the fascist forces that were ousted before the future generation. This is a historic initiative to enshrine our struggle, sacrifice and courage in the national memory.'
He said today's day is a epoch-making milestone in the history of Bangladesh. He expressed profound respect to all martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the July Mass Uprising.

Highlighting the importance of preserving the history of the July Mass Uprising, the Prime Minister said, During the fascist regime, forced disappearances, killings and repression were made out to be normal occurrences. This museum will play an important role in presenting that history to the future generation.
Tarique Rahman further said, History bears witness that the ousted fascist clique never accepted democratic governance in the country. Therefore, preserving the history of past struggles is essential to protect democracy and uphold the spirit of independence.
The inaugural ceremony was attended by senior government officials, advisers, political figures, members of families of martyrs of the July Mass Uprising, wounded fighters and representatives from various walks of life.
